The Heritage Craft Shop
The Heritage Craft Shop has a beautiful selection of Labrador arts and crafts. These traditional items include carvings, slippers, mittens, socks, moccasins, sweaters, and Innu Tea-Dolls. There is also a great selection of souvenirs distinctive to this region. Most items available in the shop have been created by local artisans from the communities of Rigolet, Sheshatshiu, North West River, Goose Bay, and

The Craft Shop building was constructed in 1939 as a craft production facility by the Grenfell Mission as part of its industrial mission. Many local residents and hospital patients were trained in craft production. Materials were supplied and craft items were sold through the Grenfell Mission, many throughout Britain and the United States. Over the years, the facility served as a hospital staff residence, and a food storage facility for the hospital. In 1975 the building was turned over to the local craft council who returned it to its original use.
